there are two different types of technical knowledge of sources and they are called formal and informal

formal: this is when the anti virus software stops working because the subscription ran out so what you will have to do now is contact the company that provides the software and asked to get it renewed or updated the next thing for this type of source is the product trainer and what a product trainer means is someone that is a professional with this product

the second source is called informal an what this means is that you have asked a friend or a member of the family to help you solve a problem that you are having with your computer, another type of informal a source would be blogging because if u could not find a way of fixing the computer the people that are looking at the blog may know what might be the problem but the
Is blogging method can be bad to because sometime you might show them some information that could lead to your computer being hacked so this is why blogging can not always be trusted.

This next type of source is a bit like a forum because say for instance we were using Microsoft office online so what you do next is type a problem that might be relevant to the problem that the computer might have, and now what happens is that it goes through all the information that matches your and if there was a way to fix it it will tell you what to do.

Here is an example of a informal source, the is a customer that is having problems making a logo in Microsoft PowerPoint so what my job is to do is find something that is reliable and trust worthy  the reason why it needs to be trust worthy and reliable is because if the person that was using this information got a virus from it it will be my fault so here is a step by step guide to making a logo is Microsoft PowerPoint.

1. is to go on forums that are from the Microsoft company such as Microsoft office online
2. type what it is that you want so for this case how to make a logo in Microsoft PowerPoint
3. and once you find something that look suitable and reliable
4. now that you have proof that the information is good send it to the person that needs it

5. now they can make the logo that they wanted to make

This is an example of a formal source so say that someone was having trouble installing a software for the driver,  so what my job is to do is find something that might help that person.
The first thing that will need to be done is get all the information on the computer such as the name, make, issue number, and the year it was made.

so lets say the you have a hp printer that will not connect to your computer
